Award-winning speakers, headline music acts and cutting-edge comedians is what you can expect at HowTheLightGetsIn – the Institute of Art and Ideas’ annual philosophy and music festival.

A unique festival of ideas and music, HowTheLightGetsIn is the only place on the planet where you can mingle with Nobel Prize winners and dance to the sounds of Mercury Prize nominees. Past years have seen Nobel Prize-winner Paul Krugman and Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott rubbing shoulders with Mercury-nominated artists GhostPoet and Laura Marling.

First confirmed speakers for the 2018 festival include political activist Noam Chomsky, Diane Abbott, Rowan Williams and director Sophie Fiennes. Alongside a full debate programme, HowTheLightGetsIn 2018 will have over 400 events, 500 artists and performers, and 12 stages. Running over the Bank Holiday weekend from 25th-28th May, in the idyllic town of Hay-On-Wye, there will be twice and many debates and bands to see at any one time.

A limited number of Earlybird tickets  are now on sale, with 30% off for Students and Under 25s. Don’t miss out on your chance to attend the world’s largest philosophy and music festival.
