Don’t panic – we’ve found 10 of the best Olympic events that you can actually watch live without completely missing out on sleep. Watching the action live is proving a little tricky due to the time zone differences between here and Brazil but fear not.
We’ve rounded up 10 of the best events that are on at a reasonable time for you to get excited about. With everything from cycling to gymnastics, diving and rowing there is sure to be something for everyone (& some great food and drink offers in one of the friendliest restaurants in Bristol too).
OLYMPIC EVENTS TO WATCH LIVE
1 – 11th August: Join us from 4:30pm for live coverage of the Rugby 7s semi-finals followed by the finals.
Good to know: It will be Happy Hour from 5-7pm and it’s also our very popular Steak Thursday where our gorgeous Rib Eye steak and hand cut chips are only £10.
2 – 11th August come and cheer on Thornley and Grainger in the women’s double skulls rowing final which is scheduled to start at 3:04pm
Good to know: We’ll have our famous £5 Lunch on from 12-5pm where you can choose from some exciting new options as well as some hearty favourites.
3 – 12th August If cycling is your thing then join us for the coverage of the women’s team sprint and men’s team pursuit finals at 10pm. It’s the weekend so you don’t even have to worry about work in the morning!
4 – 14th August An afternoon of tennis anyone? If Murray makes it through then this will be one brilliant afternoon in Racks for the men’s gold medal tennis match from 4pm. This match is followed straight after by the women’s doubles gold medal match.
Good to know: It’s a Sunday and we happen to offer the best Sunday roast in Bristol (well we think so anyway).
5 – 14th August Can Louis Smith stay on the pommel horse for team GB? Watch him and Max Whitlock in the men’s pommel horse final from 7:30pm.
Good to know: You can always book a table and pre-order your Sunday roast to ensure that you’re favourite is ready and waiting for you just when you want it.
6- 17th August. Join us for an evening of Olympics boxing from 6pm.
Good to know: Wednesdays at Racks are Pie one, Get one FREE – (after 5pm) now that’s fighting talk!
7- 18th August. Watch Team GB brothers Alistair and Johnny Brownlee in the men’s triathlon from 3pm. The brothers came away with a gold and a bronze last time so it’s set to be a good one.
Good to know: Our famous £5 Lunch will be on from 12-5pm but if you fancy staying on a bit longer then you can take advantage of our Thursday steak night offer after 5pm too.
8- 19th August Men’s and women’s BMX action starts with the semi-finals from 5:30pm and follows on with the finals.
Good to know: It’s happy hour from 5-7pm.
9- 20th August With a bit of luck Tom Daley dives for Team GB in the Men’s 10M Platform Diving final from 8:30pm. Can he get the gold this time?
10- 20th August. If diving isn’t for you then perhaps you’ll enjoy the men’s gold medal football match from 9:30pm
