Have the post Glastonbury blues, or simply don’t fancy the queues for ‘those’ loos this summer? Here at Racks we love festival season so we have compiled a list of small festivals for you to check out this summer. Not only are the queues shorter, there is less ground to cover (so less mud) and they are often cheaper too. The intimate nature of some of the best smaller festivals can be magical for so many reasons. Let’s take a look at some of the best:

2000 Trees Festival

“ a friendly, intimate atmosphere and amazing food and locally produced ciders, ales & lagers – plus there’s a distinct absence of all the bad things associated with massive mainstream events!” – 2000 Trees Festival

This festival is held in the beautiful Cotswalds and we’ve heard great things about it. At just a snippet of the festival goers in comparision to Glastonbury this festival is certainly the real deal just on a smaller, more intimate scale and is certainly worth a look.

This small festival promises to remain small yet it boasts some of the very best acts in the music industry.

“music’s biggest DJs and bands up-close and in a festival atmosphere rammed with personality and personal touches.” – Brownstock

“simply: good music, good causes, good times.” – FarmFest

This festival started out as a great party among friends and has managed to retain its independence and friendly feel. If you want a great festival on a tiny scale then this may just be the one for you.

Truck Festival

Gracing our summers since 1998 the Truck Festival describes itself as:

“the Godfather of the small festival scene” – Truck Festival

This festival prides itself on letting guests bring their own food and drink into the main arena as well as having brilliant loos. What more could you ask for?

Secret Garden Party

An independent festival with a difference. This festival boasts some top music acts, a beautiful location and even includes a paint fight! Their message to festival goers?

“Spread love. This is a serious party” – Secret Garden Party
